The Onyx is a beautiful 5-person hot tub that includes 2 loungers. This hot tub is from our premium range, as such you can expect a truly unique and tailored massage experience. Utilising 4 x 2HP pumps and a variety of jet configurations- this hot tub provides the user with a different type of massage from seat to seat. This hot tub comes as standard with a high-quality Bluetooth music system.
Insulation
Insulation is a vital feature of any hot tub. It plays a huge part in your hot tub’s heat retention, meaning that the level and quality of your hot tub’s insulation will directly affect your day-to-day running costs.
The Onyx is insulated with Platinum Spas Premium Shield which combines five different types of insulation to retain the heat within the cabinet.
Around the perimeter and on the floor of the hot tub you will find a reflective foil to rebound some heat that would otherwise be lost from components such as the pumps and the heater. Finally, the Onyx is also equipped with reflective polyurethane foam boards inside the side panels. This keeps the heat in and the cold out.
Let’s break it down:
- The base has a reflective foil wrap
- The cabinet has thick foil-coated insulation panels fitted into it
- The shell has several layers of ultra-efficient spray foam
- The hot tub has an additional 360-degree wall of reflective foil wrapped around the steel structure locking in heat
- The hot tub comes as standard with a well Insulated cover
Massage
When it comes to a hydro-massage, the Onyx DELIVERS! Utilising a whopping 4 x pump system and 90 jets, this hot tub is powerful and provides tailored therapy right where you need it most. Experience premium hydrotherapy with a well-thought-out combination of large jets, small jets, directional jets and rotational jets.
In the Onyx you will find 2 x standard seats, 1 x captain seat and 2 x loungers.
The loungers: these seats offer a massage for your back, legs and feet. Utilising the therapy from a 4 x pump system, the massage is very impressive. Both loungers have a strong focus on your thighs and calves, with moulded seating offering jets for both sides of the legs. Both lounge seats offer a different styling of jets that target the back area, with one having a strong focus on the spine. The second focuses on the outside area of the upper, centre and lower back.
The captain seat: if you’re someone who suffers from upper back pain, shoulder pain or neck pain, then you’ll love this seat. This particular seat offers a wide range of jet placements to target the majority of the back, plus a reverse moulded collar seat for both neck and shoulder therapy.
This seat is also positioned in front of 2 x volcano jets, offering powerful therapy for your feet.
The other 2 x seats are slightly elevated, making great seats for children or those who are looking for a place to cool down.
Users have full control of the power of the massage. Have as many pumps on as you like, change the power of the massage from seat to seat using the diverters, and increase or decrease the air jets. Or even turn individual jets down/ off.
Space
The Onyx offers one of the largest footwells of any of our 5-person hot tubs. Being 223 x 223 cm, there’s ample room for the whole family.
Control System
The Onyx comes as standard with a Balboa Spa Touch 2, touchscreen control panel. This makes navigating the settings of the hot tub easy.
Water Purification
Clarity of water is important, that’s why this hot tub utilises the very latest in Ozone technology. But what does Ozone do? When used in conjunction with your regular hot tub sanitiser (e.g., chlorine or bromine), ozone will help to kill pathogenic bacteria, viruses and germs. Which means that you’ll in turn need less sanitiser, helping to reduce the amount you spend on chemicals whilst keeping your spa water cleaner and clearer.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is an optional extra on the Onyx. This allows you to control the hot tub from anywhere in the world, you can set the temperature, change the filter cycles and much more.
Going away for a couple of weeks, you’ve set the temperature down but want the hot tub to be up to temperature for when you get back? With the Wifi upgrade, this isn’t an issue. Simply open up the app, change the temperature and prepare your favourite swimming trunks for your arrival back home.
