Less is More
Notice anything? If you said this hot tub looks extremely simplistic, then you would be right. The Vacation Cypress has been designed to be both easy to use and easy to maintain.
- No headrests: this makes the hot tub easier to clean and let’s face it, generally these are the first things to go missing on a hot tub in a holiday setting.
- No diverters: fewer things to potentially break. The Vacation Cypress has a 3hp pump meaning that there is adequate power from all 26 jets, operated with a simple push of a button.
- Simplified control panel
Control System
The Vacation Cypress by Aquasolus is equipped with a reliable Balboa TP500 control system, securely housed within a lockable cabinet to prevent tampering with key settings such as temperature and filtration cycles.
For ease of use, guests can operate the hot tub through the user-friendly Balboa AX50 control panel mounted on the top side, which allows access only to the pump ON/OFF and light ON/OFF functions.
Water Purification
Clarity of water is important; that’s why the Vacation Cypress hot tub utilises the very latest in Ozone technology. But what does Ozone do? When used in conjunction with your regular hot tub sanitiser (e.g., chlorine or bromine), ozone will help to kill pathogenic bacteria, viruses and germs. This means that you’ll in turn need less sanitiser, helping to reduce the amount you spend on chemicals whilst keeping your spa water cleaner and clearer.
Huge Traffic Boost To Air B&B Listing From Hot Tub
It’s now common knowledge that hot tubs are a vital addition to any holiday let, they will generate more traffic to your listing, thus increasing bookings. You will also be able to command a higher nightly rate, just by including a hot tub in your property’s offering!
Located in a stunning part of Y Felinheli, North Wales, Alex wasn’t happy with the number of bookings his property was getting and was looking for ways to make his holiday let business more profitable. The image is a snap-shot from Alex’s Air B&B account, on the 19th of February he changed his listing to include a hot tub. On the very same day, he noticed a HUGE surge in views.
This directly led to an increase in his total number of bookings and he also began to charge an additional £100 for the use of the hot tub.
Alex calculated that with the increase in bookings, combined with the additional £100 that he was charging for the use of the hot tub, the hot tub had paid for itself within 3 months of installation.
Why Invest in a Hot Tub for Your North Wales Holiday Cottage?
Are you looking to increase bookings and boost income from your holiday let in North Wales? Adding a hot tub is one of the most effective ways to make your property more desirable, helping it stand out on booking platforms and attract guests all year round.
1. Hot Tubs Are Among the Most Searched-For Features
According to the Sykes Staycation Index 2025, hot tubs are consistently in the top five most searched-for amenities. Guests specifically filter for holiday homes with hot tubs, meaning properties with this feature are more likely to receive bookings—especially for short breaks and romantic getaways.
2. Stand Out in North Wales’ Competitive Holiday Let Market
North Wales continues to be one of the UK’s top staycation destinations, with Gwynedd, Anglesey, and Conwy seeing significant increases in demand. A hot tub helps your property stand out in this competitive landscape and can make all the difference between a browsing guest and a confirmed booking.
💡 Top Tip: If your cottage is located near walking trails, beaches, or scenic spots like Snowdonia, highlight the joy of relaxing in a hot tub after a day exploring North Wales’ natural beauty.
3. Earn More Per Stay
Holidaymakers are spending more on UK getaways—£1,292 on average in 2025, up from £1,070 in 2024 (Sykes Staycation Index 2025). Properties with hot tubs can command higher nightly rates and often achieve greater occupancy year-round, helping maximise your return on investment.
4. Broaden Your Guest Appeal
A hot tub enhances your property’s appeal to a wide range of guests, including:
-
Couples seeking romantic retreats
-
Families looking for a fun and relaxing feature
-
Pet owners—especially with nearly 30% of bookings including dogs (Sykes Index)
A soak in the hot tub is a welcome treat after long walks across Snowdonia National Park, the Llyn Peninsula, or the North Wales coast.
5. Extend Your Booking Season
Unlike some seasonal features, a hot tub offers year-round enjoyment. From cosy winter weekends to summer escapes, a hot tub helps fill your calendar during off-peak months as well as high season.
Ready to Boost Bookings? Add a Hot Tub Today
Adding a hot tub to your holiday cottage in North Wales is a proven way to increase bookings, nightly rates, and guest satisfaction. Enhance your property’s value and stand out in one of the UK’s most popular holiday regions.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between 13 amp and 32 amp hot tubs?
To keep it simple – it’s all about power.
13 amp hot tubs are ideal for places with limited power access, like lodges or holiday homes. One of the big plus points is that they can run off a standard 3-pin, IP-rated outdoor socket (though we always recommend hardwiring them to a rotary isolator switch for safety).
Because they use less power, 13 amp models usually have just one pump. That means slightly gentler massage performance, and the heater can’t run at the same time as the jets – so if you’re soaking for a while with the jets on full blast, you might notice the temperature dip a bit. Once the jets are off, the heater kicks back in.
32 amp hot tubs, on the other hand, need a dedicated power supply from your mains consumer unit. This setup is straightforward for a qualified electrician and gives you more oomph all round – stronger massage jets, and the heater can stay on while you’re using the tub. If you’re after a more powerful, consistent soak (especially for regular use or hydrotherapy), a 32 amp model is usually the way to go.
How are your hot tubs delivered?
Most AquaSolus hot tubs are delivered by a two-person team, using a tried-and-tested method.
We stand the spa up on its side, secure it onto a sled (we call it the “ski”), and carefully move it into place. We’ll use decking boards or similar to protect patios, lawns, or gravel as we go.
In some cases, a specialist delivery may be needed – for example, if we need to lift the spa over a wall, use a crane, or build ramps. These types of deliveries do come with extra cost, but we’ll always advise upfront.
Can you get the hot tub up steps?
Sometimes, yes – but it depends on how many, how steep they are, and what kind of access we’re working with. If you’re unsure, just contact us. A member of the team will talk through your access and help determine whether your space is suitable.
What should I consider before my hot tub is delivered?
There are a few key things to think about before delivery day – from access and electrics to your base and how you’ll fill the tub. Here’s a quick checklist to help you get prepared:
1. Access
Hot tubs are delivered standing on their side, using a specialist trolley (the “ski”). This means:
-
You’ll need a clear route that’s at least as wide as the height of your hot tub + 5cm for packaging – usually over 1 metre.
-
Measure the narrowest point carefully and watch for tight spots like gate posts, drainpipes or window ledges.
-
If there are steps, contact us first – we can often manage them, but it depends on height, steepness and how many there are.
-
Crane or Hiab lifts may be required for tight access – we’ll advise if that’s needed. Additional charges apply for specialist equipment or extra team members.
2. Electrics
-
Most hot tubs need a 32 amp power supply and an IP65 rotary isolator switch, installed at least 2 metres from the tub.
-
This must be connected to your mains consumer unit – we recommend using 6mm armoured cable.
-
Always use a qualified electrician. We’re happy to recommend trusted local contractors.
-
If you’re installing a 13 amp hot tub, we recommend using a 16 amp isolator switch for added protection.
3. The Base
Your hot tub needs to sit on a solid, level surface that can handle its full weight when filled:
-
A concrete base (at least 4 inches thick and ideally reinforced) is best.
-
Decking or paving slabs can work too – as long as they’re properly supported with a suitable sub-base.
-
Avoid sinking your hot tub into the ground or decking – it can lead to drainage problems and make servicing harder.
-
If recessing into decking, make sure to leave removable access panels for maintenance.
4. Water Feed
-
No plumbing is required – just fill your hot tub with a hose.
-
Always fill through the filter housing to prevent air locks.
5. Other Considerations
-
Cover lifters need around 18 inches of clearance at the back.
-
Think about future access for servicing and maintenance – don’t box the spa in completely.

How do I maintain my AquaSolus hot tub?
Looking after your AquaSolus hot tub is straightforward – just follow a few key routines to keep it performing at its best:
Water Changes
-
Home use: Change the water every 1–3 months
-
Holiday lets or commercial use: Change the water between guests
Filter Care
-
Home use: Clean filters every 1–2 weeks, replace every 6 months
-
Commercial use: Clean between guests, replace every 3 months
Ozone System Maintenance
-
If your hot tub has an ozone system, the unit should be replaced every 2 years
Annual Service
-
We recommend booking a yearly service with one of our qualified engineers
-
This includes a full check-up, a biofilm flush to deep-clean the pipework, and a full health report on your spa
Water Chemistry
-
Keep your water balanced with regular testing
-
Unbalanced water can shorten the life of the water itself – and in rare cases, damage your spa over time
Follow these simple steps and your Aqua Solus hot tub will stay in great condition – clean, safe, and ready to enjoy.
